The Miracle of Loaves and Fishes

“The Miracle of the Loaves and Fishes” depicts John 6:1-15: Jesus Feeds the Multitude. The colorful work was inspired by the artist Eileen Panepinto’s visualization of how Jesus fed the multitude from just five loaves of bread and two fish. Each of the three panels represent a particular part of the story and time of day. She makes use of visual icons to convey the narrative. The meaning of this painting is also the story of Bread and Life which has been feeding hundreds of thousands of hungry people in its Soup Kitchen, Food Pantry and now Mobile Soup Kitchen since its founding over thirty years ago in the basement of a church in Bedford Stuyvesant. .

The Miracle of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes painting inspires the growing number of clients who depend upon Bread and Life for their daily food survival. It reminds them that faith is what has brought them here. Faith, that if you give life your all, Jesus will multiply it to provide for all.

Eileen Panepinto is an award-winning, exhibiting artist who is a painter, mixed-media artist and graphic designer. She lives in Weston, CT and has a BFA from the School of Visual Arts.
