Project ID
St. John’s Bread and Life offers assistance with obtaining vital documents, including
- Birth Certificate
- Non-Drivers ID
- Social Security Card
- Marriage License
The Project is run and organized by the Ozanam Scholars of St. John’s University from September to May of each year. In late 2008, while working at St. John’s Bread and Life Soup Kitchen in Brooklyn, NY, members of the Ozanam Scholars Program founded Project Identity to help individuals obtain proper forms of legal identification. We are able to provide Birth Certificates, Social Security cards, Non- Driver's IDs, and Marriage and Divorce Certificates. Project Identity is growing in the types of services it provides to its clients and it's growing everyday as a program. Appointments can be made Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with a Project Identity caseworker from 9:30 to 11:30. We will even provide trips to the DMV to help our clients get their IDs. As a community we all should be willing to come together and help Project Identity to grow and participate in, “Helping move people out of poverty and towards independence, one step at a time.”
